Description
Greetings from the Badger State. Wisconsin became the 30th state in our nation in 1848. The state was named after the Wisconsin River. The nickname of “Badger State” referes to the lead miners of the 1830’s who lived underground in temporary caves cut in the hillsides. Wisconsin is identified as America’s Dairyland because of Wisconsin’s dairy farms which lead the nation in the production of milk, cheese and butter. State Bird: Robin. State Flower: Violet.
